To limit the exposure of AppleScript code to potential injection, invalid AppleScript may be rejected. Additionally, a new AppleScript language construct was added, the with keyword, to enforce separation of concerns. When enabled, with disables automatic file access, and script code is instead run with the expectation that it will only receive input from with statements.

As Apple continues to update the Mac operating system, it’s important to verify that updates are being pushed to the devices you use. You can use the System Profiler to identify which devices on your network have the most recent software installed.

Apple System Profiler

While Apple is constantly updating the Mac operating system, it’s important to verify that updates are being pushed to the devices you use. We recommend using System Profiler to identify which devices on your network have the most recent software installed.
System Profiler can also be used to check for updates and install them as needed. The software update history tab allows you to see when your device last updated, as well as what version was previously installed on the device. In an ideal world, we would all update our systems in a timely manner so there wouldn’t be any need for this tool, but flawed human nature prohibits us from doing so!
A few things to keep in mind:
- System Profiler cannot fix problems with your computer or hardware
- If a device is not listed in System Profiler, it means it has not updated recently
- If a device shows an outdated version number, you may need to update that device manually

Find Systems with the Latest Software Installed

System Profiler provides the ability to identify the devices on your network with the most recent software installed. This is a valuable tool because you can use it to quickly determine which devices are not receiving updates, or need immediate attention. The information you receive will be helpful when you’re trying to schedule future software update timeframes.
