Summary of VMware Workspace ONE and VMware Identity Manager (UEM) Patches

All versions of VMware Workspace ONE (5.0.0-5.0.16) are affected by these issues. All versions of VMware Identity Manager (6.0.0 - 6.0.2) are affected by these issues.

VMWare Workspace ONE

VMware Workspace ONE is a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) platform that provides the ability to create, manage, and deliver desktops from within a single pane of glass. This allows for easier management, increased security, and reduced costs.

VMWare Workspace ONE has become one of the most popular choices for small to medium-sized businesses. It offers features like Microsoft Office 365 integration and compatibility with VMware Horizon desktop clients. With these features in mind, it's easy to see why this system is so popular among businesses looking for an all-in-one solution.

The major downside of VMware Workspace ONE is the fact that it relies on Windows XP SP3 as its target OS. This means that it won't work on computers running anything newer than this OS version. Nowadays, most machines will still be running at least Windows 7 or 8 so it could pose a problem if you're trying to upgrade your OS from an older version of Windows to a newer one.

vRealize Automation 6.0.0

VMware released vRealize Automation 6.0.0 with a number of new features and bug fixes, including:
- Improved its machine catalog management
- New support for VMware NSX vSphere Networking
- New workflow and business process flows to automate tasks
- Support for the latest release of vSphere (6.5)
- In addition to these updates, VMware also released an update for vRealize Automation 6.0.1 that addresses the issue CVE-2022-22957 detailed in this advisory and provides enhanced security protections for all versions of VMware Workspace ONE (5.0.0 - 5.0.16) and VMware Identity Manager (6.0.0 - 6.2).
