Vulnerability overview

A vulnerability in the boot code of SICAM P855 (All versions  V3.10), SICAM P855 (All versions  V3.10), SICAM P855 (All versions  V3.10), SICAM P855 (All versions  V3.10), SICAM P855 (All versions  V3.10), SICAM P855 (All versions  V3.10) allows attackers to gain unauthorized access to the device’s filesystem by sending a certain string over the air during boot up and then waiting for a response from the device while it is connected to a malicious Wi-Fi network.

Summary

CVE-2022-41665, is a local privilege escalation vulnerability in all versions of SICAM P855. This vulnerability exists because the software allows any user to access and modify the administrative settings.
To exploit this, an attacker needs physical or logical access to a targeted system, or be able to log in through an existing account with administrative privileges.

The SICAM P855 is a wireless, captive portal-based network security camera that supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi radio frequency bands and has an integrated Siren Engine.

The SICAM P855 provides support for running two ways and also provides support for six wireless zones with the capability of having three wireless zones per camera. The wireless zone capabilities allow the user to monitor up to four different areas of their property by connecting up to four cameras on one wireless channel.

With SICAM P855, users are able to access their video through a remote web interface or mobile application and is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. The device offers integration with popular third-party video management software, such as NVRs, DVRs, VMSs, IP surveillance systems and more via the use of an API. The API can be configured through a settings menu on the device’s screen in the event that additional software is not available on the device itself.
